St Joe Community Church welcomes abortion victim as guest speaker on Roe v. Wade anniversary1/19/2018 ![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 18, 2018 Contact: Greg Byman: mobile (260) 403-5255 | GregByman@gmail.com St Joe Community Church welcomes abortion victim as guest speaker on Roe v. Wade anniversary FORT WAYNE -- St Joe Community Church welcomes Silent No More’s Rochelle Bloomfield to serve as a guest speaker for Sunday, January 21, 2018. The worship service is annually dedicated to observing the 1973 Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion on demand in all 50 states. In 1982, Rochelle was 17 years old and facing an unplanned pregnancy. In the wake of her decision to abort her daughter, Rochelle struggled for years with guilt and regret. In 2008, Rochelle joined a bible study sponsored by Fort Wayne-based A Hope Center, a ministry that helps post-abortive parents recover from decisions to abort their children. That bible study helped Rochelle find forgiveness in Jesus Christ and subsequently reach out to others struggling from abortion decisions, as well as those presently facing unplanned pregnancies. 23 years later, Rochelle is now the mother of two children, and the grandmother of one. She is a healthcare case manager at Park Center and member of Pathway Community Church, which featured her testimony of post-abortion recovery in 2006. “Legalized abortion has been largely regarded as only about the baby, but many post abortive fathers and mothers subsequently struggle for years with lingering doubts about their decisions, and often quietly in the shadows of shame and regret,” says Rochelle. “Today, we are silent no more. Post-abortive fathers and mothers are learning to speak out about their choices and encourage others to learn from their mistakes. I am grateful for churches that minister to injured souls needing forgiveness in Jesus Christ, and I look forward to sharing my experience at St Joe Community Church on Sanctity of Life Sunday.”
“We are grateful for the opportunity to share a message of forgiveness and healing for anyone who has experienced an abortion” says St Joe’s pastor, Greg Byman. “I am thankful for Rochelle’s willingness to let God use her to offer hope in Christ’s name. Media are welcome to cover Sunday’s event. Please contact in advance Greg Byman in order to set-up needs, as St Joe is located in a section of town with limited parking.
