Isaiah 26:3 You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace.
One Verse of a praise song to God
-Song subject is the strong salvation of God
-The singer declares his complete trust in God
-In contrast, unbelievers are trampled over, brought down
-spoken as if this is already happening- prophetic literature
Isaiah is being inspired to declare this future hope
His nation will experience God’s judgment, sorrow, exile
-Verse 3 is true for a believer regardless of circumstances!
God promises perfect peace
-peace, peace- literally in Hebrew, absolute peace
-absence of war, no more enemy waiting to attack
-A person who trusts God is no longer an enemy of God!
-Philippians 4:7 the peace of God guards the ones “in Christ”
God creates this peace in us
-We cannot manufacture this state of security and rest!
-vs 12 God establishes this peace, He does all the work
-Colossians 1:19-20 God the Son made peace between God
and us through his blood shed on the cross
We must depend on God to experience this peace
-mind that is stayed/focused on God
-possibly includes the idea of our heart and emotions as well
-apply the truth of God’s peace to every circumstance
-apply the truth of God’s peace to every sin we commit
Do you know God’s peace?
Place your faith in Christ to receive this peace!
Apply the truth of God’s salvation to your whole life
-Every believer is at peace with God
-Every circumstance is tolerable in the light of eternity
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace
